Article I: Sorzus Syn
Once a Former Jedi, Sorzus and her fellow Dark Jedi once attempted to overthrow the Jedi Order after not being permitted to delve further into the dark side of the Force. Learning the powers of dark side alchemy, Sorzus was one of top commanders for the Dark Jedi. With her knowledge, she was able to summon and create a number of creatures such as Shamblers, Howlers, Pit Horrors, and Leviathans.
However, the Dark Jedis' defeat at the Battle of Corbos led her and eleven other Dark Jedis into exile by the Jedi Order. Though thanks to collecting information about Sith Space as well as the Sith People during the war, she and the survivors managed to steer the ship towards the unknown, hoping to escape the eyes of the Jedi and the Republic.
Their ship landed them on Korriban, homeworld to the pureblood Sith. The King of Korriban, Hakagram Graush initially met these outsiders with hostility but the Dark Jedis were able to use their superior technology and Force knowledge to foil said attempts. Such an attempt ended in Ajunta Pall executing Hakagram Graush with his own war blade and declaring himself the new Dark Lord of the Sith, and the other exiles becoming the first new Jen’jidai, or Sith Lords. Sorzus Syn decided to create a diary after this event, writing down the founding of the Jedi Order, her views on the Hundred Year Darkness, arrival on Korriban, culture and tradition of the Sith, as well as the Sith Code and the Sith Prophecy.
Article II: Tulak Hord
As a force sensitive male, Tulak Hord was a pupil of the dark side of the Force during the early Sith Empire. Rising through the ranks, many feared his mastery in lightsaber combat and in his manipulation of the Force. During his early years, Tulak Hord came across Khem Val, a Dashade, whose sole purpose was to be a tool of war and assassination. Both Tulak Hord and Khem Val fought until Tulak was declared the winner, in which Khem Val pleaded fealty after. The two assembled an army created from the followers of Tulak and led military campaigns against terrorist cells on the planets Yn and Chabosh. During his campaign, Hord was approached by a Sith Lord named Aloysius Kallig, who wished to be a general under him. Despite already denying him and having a general, Aloysius engaged in a battle with Hord’s old general and won. Impressed with his superiority, Hord established Aloysius as his general, of which led to many successful campaigns. As the campaigns raged on, Hord utilized his knowledge of Sith rituals to drain the strength from his enemies, earning him the titles of Lord of Hate, Master of the Gathering Darkness, and more importantly, Dark Lord of the Sith. While both his and Kallig’s power led to their success, Hord grew wary of Kallig becoming too powerful for his own right. To stop this growing threat, Hord employed assassins to kill Kallig, prompting his family to hide away in fear of being killed.
Hord continued his endeavors of Sith Sorcery, creating tomes of his knowledge and works. Rumored to know the key to eternal life, Hord scattered his teachings on holocrons across multiple planets to ensure only those who were worthy will have access to it. It is believed that he managed to conquer many worlds and systems for the Empire, including the Dromund System. Hord was not one for apprenticing, but one Sith, Ortan Cela, managed to catch his eyes and was the only one who was seen as worthy. Tulak Hord placed his servant Khem Val in suspended animation in a stasis chamber to honor his relationship with him. Though it did not last long as Ortan Cela killed Tulak Hord by stabbing him in the back and letting his dashade, Veshikk Urk consumed the dying Sith Lord’s force energy. Following his untimely death, his minions constructed a massive tomb for their master in the Valley of the Sith Lords. Entombed with him were his tomes of writing, mask, and holocron.
Article III: Exar Kun
Raised in the Jedi Order, Exar Kun had surprisingly little control over his anger. As a young Padawan, Exar showed immense potential in the Force. None of his fellow Padawan peers could contest with him when it came to lightsaber or Force powers. Exar’s very master, Vodo Siosk-Baas had taken notice of his Padawans' barely controlled rage. At one point in Exars training, his master had to step in to stop a duel between Exar and
a fellow peer Padawan due to Exar nearly killing her.
Exar Kun eventually took on a second saber and with it used the art of Jar’Kai to defeat his very master. Once Exar finished his training, he set out to find the dark power of the Sith. His curiosity overwhelmed him, and he believed himself immune to the Dark Side's temptation. Exar’s search led him to Dxun, a moon of Onderon. There, Exar found the tomb and spirit of the ancient Sith Lord Freedon Nadd. Freedom tempted Exar to the Dark Side and took him on as an apprentice. Exar grew in power quickly, and eventually destroyed Freedons spirit. With his ambitions set on becoming a Dark Lord, he set out to destroy the other disciples of Freedon Nadd, so he would have little competition.
Exar Kun eventually came to find the Krath Sith Cult. There, he encountered their warlord, Ulic Qel-Droma. During this encounter, the spirit of Marka Ragnos appeared, and announced they had completed their full true initiations as Sith. Exar Kun was dubbed Dark Lord by Marka, with Ulic becoming his Sith apprentice. Together, they formed the Brotherhood of The Sith, and waged war on the galaxy.
Focused on destroying the ancient lore of the Jedi on Ossus, Exar’s apprentice betrayed him for the Jedi and prepared an assault against him at Yavin 4. As Exar returned to Yavin 4, he was attacked by thousands of Jedi. Using a technique he did not fully understand or master, he separated his spirit from his body in an attempt to escape. Unfortunately, the Jedi Nomi Sunrider lead the Jedi to create the Wall of Light, a power that destroyed the landscape of Yavin 4, trapping the spirit of Exar inside his temple.
Article IV: Naga Sadow
Naga Sadow was a master alchemist and Dark Lord of the Sith who in 5000 BBY, led the Sith in an attempt to dominate the galaxy in an event known as the Great Hyperspace War. He was born roughly 2000 years after the Second Great Schism that saw the Dark Jedi exiled. Sadow himself was an heir to the legacy left behind by the original Dark Jedi, as he was a Half-Human Half-Sith hybrid, and bore one of the pureset Jedi lineages amongst the Sith Empire. He preached a philosophy of expansionism, which put him at odds with other Sith due to the Empire’s policy of isolation. At the death of Dark Lord of the Sith, Marka Ragnos, Sadow immediately began preparations to take the position for himself.
Sadow had grown angry at his fellow Sith due to them doing nothing other than enjoying their vast riches. He believed this would lead to Stagnation. Sadow’s chance to change things was the death of Marka Ragnos. During Marka Ragnos’s funeral, a grand procession was undertaken through the Valley of the Dark Lords, lead ny Sadow’s biggest rival, Ludo Kressh, who also sought the position for himself. Sadow arrived late to the tomb, and ascended the steps to Ragnos’s new tomb. Ludo Kressh ordered him to step back, stating that he was shaming the memory of the Dark Lord. Sadow refused, stepping up to declare himself Dark Lord of the Sith. Kressh immediately opposed his claim, and the 2 Lords in accordance to tradition, decided to battle. The Lord's duel in front of the tomb quickly became a fight to the death, as it showed neither would back down. However, neither side took victory as the spirit of Marka Ragnos appeared, warning the two to stop at once. He declared that the Golden Age of the Sith would soon end, and unnecessary fighting would only harm the Empire.
The very next moment, two Republic explorers would discover Korriban. They were immediately imprisoned upon arrival. Sadow staged the escape of the two explorers, using the opportunity to make it seem like a Republic operation. He used the widespread suspicion, paranoia, and fear to prepare the Empire for a war. During his preparations, he eliminated Kressh’s forces, leaving no challengers to his authority. Sadow then gathered the other Sith Lords, forming a massive military and navy in order to destroy the Republic. When the time was right, Sadow’s forces launched a surprise attack on the Republic, striking many planets, including Coruscant, the capital of the Republic. Sadow commanded his forces from an isolated meditation sphere.
The invasion was initially highly successful, with him almost claiming victory, until one of his apprentices turned on him, attacking his meditation sphere, leaving his forces without commands. While Sadow managed to kill his rebellious apprentice, his forces were in dessary, forcing him to return to Korriban. When he arrived, he found his rival, Ludo Kressh, thought to be dead, with an army waiting for him. After winning the conflict with Kressh, he found himself without an army, when a Republic invasion was imminent. Seeing the fact that he had no chance of winning, he fled into permanent exile on Yavin 4.
Article V: Force Wars
The Force Wars were a ten year long conflict that occured on the Je’daii homeworld of Tython. The Force Wars were considered by most as one of the first conflicts between the followers of the Dark and Light. However, the Force Wars were started by an invasion of the Rakatan Infinite Empire.
Around the year 25,800 BBY, the Force Wars were predicted by Je’daii Master Daegen Lok after he deviated from conventional wisdom, and decided to venture into the chasm under the temple of Anii Kesh (The Je’daii Temple of Science), where most of the Orders research on science and alchemy took place. Master Lok received a vision showing him dark warriors wielding what he described as “blades of frozen fire” (Forcesabers) marching across the planet of Bka Gora, a planet in the Tython system that was covered in massive forests. Master Lok also saw himself leading the Je’daii armies to combat the invaders. Driven mad by these visions, Master Lok fell to the Dark Side. He was later taken before the Je’daii Council, who did not believe his visions. Sentencing him to banishment on the moon of Bogan, Lok eventually returned to Balance in the Force, and spent the next seven years of his life carving a statue of him holding the weapon he saw in his vision.
After the Rakatan threat fell, a devide grew in the Je’daii Order between the followers of Master Lok and the followers of the Je’daii Council. The sides were eventually defined by their different ideologies, being referred to as the Bogan Je’daii and the Ashla Je’daii. Both Sides used traditional weapons of metal swords augmented by the Force, with the Bogan Je’daii also using Forcesabers. With the reorganizing of the Ashla Jedi into the Jedi Order, it was thought that peace would soon arrive. However, one of the founding members of the Jedi Order, Master Rajivari betrayed the Jedi and returned to the Bogan Je’daii, and was defeated. In 25,783 BBY, the Bogan Je’daii fled to the Outer Rim after a cataclysmic event left Tython uninhabitable.
Article VI: Marka Ragnos
Marka Ragnos was a Sith-Human hybrid born within the Sith Empire. Ragnos, being considered a formidable Sith, fought for the throne after the death of the previous Dark Lord. He fought a fellow contending Sith named Simus, and beheaded him. He was known as the greatest Dark Lord to his age, and ruled for over a century.
He made master plays of pinning contenders against each other, to prove themselves worthy, which kept his throne secure with no threats.
Eventually, Ragnos came across a boy named Tenebrae. This boy sought out power from Marka Ragnos, and impressed him. Ragnos eventually trained him and dubbed him a Lord of the Sith. This boy eventually became known as Vitiate, the current ruling Emperor of our Sith Order.
Upon Ragnos’s death, many declared it to be the end of a Golden Age for the Sith. However, Marka Ragnos did not truly die. He had broken his chains, and continued to be the Watcher of the Sith thousands of years after his death, leading many others down the path to keep Sith teachings relevant. To this day, Marka Ragnos silently watches us.
Article VII: Darth Revan
Darth Revan was born in 3994 BBY, and was a Jedi Padawan studying under many masters - there, and he made a friend with another student named Alek. Revan criticized the Jedi’s lack of involvement in the Mandalorian Wars and led the Revanchist movement, where he took the name “Revan” and the mask of a fallen Mandalorian. In 3960 BBY, he defeated Mandalore the Ultimate, a Mandalorian Leader, at the Battle of Malachor V. From there, a sith influence resulted in him and Alek going to the Unknown Regions and getting turned to the Dark Side by the Sith Emperor after discovering a reconstituted Sith Empire. They were sent back to the Republic as agents, holding the names Darth Revan and Darth Malak under the mental control of the emperor.
When they broke free of this mind control, they decided to form their Empire using the Star Forge - a space station built by the Rakata. With this, he created a huge military fleet and weapons and took Malak as his apprentice. Revan declared war against the Republic, which resulted in the start of the Jedi Civil War. However, his Apprentice betrayed him, and he was captured by Jedi Knight Bastila Shan, who formed a Force Bond with him. Bastilla Shan wiped Revan’s mind, and he and his allies traveled to Dantooine and were retrained as a Jedi Padawan. Revan was sent on a mission to find the Star Maps, which would lead the way to the Star Forge, but Malak captured his group, and it wasn’t until now that Revan’s true self was re-revealed to him, and Shan was caught.
With these memories, he went alone to the Unknown Regions to find answers, but the Sith captured him for 300 years. He was freed by a former lieutenant of his, Meetra Surik, with the help of Sith Lord Scourge. They attempted to defeat the Emperor but failed, and Revan was captured for another 300 years before the republic freed him. He took control of a Rakatan foundry, planning to use it to create weapons against the Empire, yet was killed in the process. However, when captured by the Emperor, his mind was split from the torture - half of him (The Light Side) wanted to become one with the Force, whereas the other half (The Dark Side) rejected death and clung to life. This was when he created the Order of Revan to defeat the Sith Emperor. However, the Empire and Republic joined together to defeat him. Revan’s Light Side couldn’t pass on and helped to defeat the Dark Side of him.
While the Emperor regained his strength, Revan’s two sides finally rejoined and passed on, with his spirit helping the Empire and Republic defeat the Emperor. He became one with the Force after the Emperor’s defeat and has been a legend ever since.
Article VIII: Darth Nihilus
Darth Nihilus was a human male known as the "Dark Lord of the Sith" during the era of strife following the Jedi Civil War. He lost everything during the Mandalorian wars, including his friends, family, and his will to live.
On Malachor during the war's finale, he was trapped by the artificially-created mass shadows and took ill suddenly due to their effects. His emotional pain manifested as an emptiness that soon became an intense "hunger." He indulged in absorbing the energy of other survivors, and the more he fed, the shorter the hunger was appeased and the more powerful it became.
After Darth Malak was slain at the end of the Jedi Civil War, the Sith Empire became fractured, with numerous factions trying to take command. Nihilus was found by Darth Traya, who sensed he was a "wound in the Force." She explained to him that the Force fueled his hunger and offered to give him the training that would make him able to feed on entire planets. Nihilus went with Traya to her Sith Academy, where he studied to become a Sith alongside Darth Sion. With Traya, they formed a Sith Triumvirate, and the three each took a title, in Nihilus’ case, “Lord of Hunger.” Traya taught Nihilus to harness his hunger to become stronger, and he devoured entire planets several times, allowing himself to grow more immersed and influential in the Dark Side. But as Nihlius’s power grew, he overthrew Traya and the Sith were left with no defined leadership.
Nihilus traveled the fringes of known space with a large fleet of ships, leading his flotilla to the largest deposits of Force energies he could find, whereupon he sated the hunger within him and further increased his power. Four years after Traya's exile, Nihilus and Sion reunited the fractured Sith to take control.Nihilus became so absorbed by the dark side of the Force and his hunger that his physical body began to erode. Knowing that he would succumb to death if he did not act soon, Nihilus ripped his spirit from his body and encased it in the armor he wore. Apart from that, he no longer had a physical form and became simple, primitive intent. Additionally, the Dark Lord constructed a cubic Holocron containing Sith knowledge and some of their secrets.
